The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and the Flint Cultural Center institutions invite the Flint community for a weekend full of fun and celebration.

Friday, June 5

Flint Cultural Center Campus

  • 5-8 p.m. — Free admission at Flint Institute of Arts, Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium.
  • 5:15-8 p.m. — Food for purchase offered by local food trucks, Coffee Beanery Café at Sloan Museum of Discovery and Palette Café at the Flint Institute of Arts.
  • 6-8 p.m. — Live performances on a stage outside of the Flint Institute of Arts.

Saturday, June 6

Flint Cultural Center Campus

  • Noon-5 p.m. — Scavenger Hunt (with prizes).
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Hydration stations, snack and lemonade vendors.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Bounce house.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Gaming truck.
  • 12:30-2:30 p.m. (or until food runs out) — Free community lunch.

Applewood Estate

  • Open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (Free admission.)
  • 1-4 p.m. – Self-guided house tours.

Flint Institute of Music

  • Noon-6 p.m. — Live performances on outdoor stage (lawn in between FIA and Longway Planetarium).
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Kid Instrument Playground (outside the FIM Whiting Auditorium).

Flint Institute of Arts

  • Open noon-6 p.m. (Free admission.)
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Gallery Learning Experience (GLEx) tours.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Glass blowing demos in the Hot Shop.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Artmaking activities for all ages.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Pixar Shorts – Films on loop (FIA Theater).
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Puppet shows (lobby).
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Outdoor printmaking (front patio).
  • Noon-6 p.m. — DIY art projects (lawn).
  • 1-5 p.m. — Steamroller printmaking (front parking lot).
  • 1-6 p.m. — DIY screenprinting (bring your own tote bag, shirts, etc.).
  • 1-6 p.m. — Button making with Factory Two.

Gloria Coles Flint Public Library

  • Open noon-5 p.m.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Children’s reading challenge and book giveaway.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Adults’ reading challenge and book giveaway.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Librarian tables (front sidewalk).
  • 1-5 p.m. — Block experience (lawn).
  • 1-5 p.m. — Foam party (lawn).

Sloan Museum of Discovery

  • Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Free admission.)
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Soap box derby.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Seedling giveaway.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — Table Tennis Tourney.
  • Noon-6 p.m. — The Lost World of Dragons special exhibit.

Longway Planetarium

  • Open 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (Free admission.)
  • 11:30 a.m. — Ticket giveaway on Kearsley Street outside the planetarium.
