This grant is for the development of a green building renovation through the University of Michigan-Flint's University Outreach, entitled the "Urban Alternatives House". Leveraging a grant from the Kresge Green Building Initiative, this grant will enable the grantee to complete the planning phase of the project. Located at 519 Garland Street, in the historic Carriage Town district, the Urban Alternatives House will serve to teach sustainable living, support green building on Genesee County Land Bank-owned properties, and combat climate change. This project is a collaboration between the University of Michigan-Flint, the Genesee County Land Bank, and THA Architects.
